Posted by anthoNYC on March 23, 2009

Placebo has officially announced the June 9th release of Battle for the Sun, the follow up to 2006’s Meds. The trio’s upcoming 6th album will feature new drummer Steve Forrest (who stepped in after Steve Hewitt’s  2007 depature.) You can download the title track for the upcoming release for free on the band’s website HERE.

Of the upcoming release, lead singer Brian Molko had this to say: “I’m very optimistic about the future. I’m in a positive frame of mind and a good head space. It’s very exciting. There’s a lot of life in the old dog just yet.”

I really like the the title track “Battle for the Sun” and I was stoked to see them live, but they canceled the Seattle show. Here is the Placebo Poster for that concert. Cheers!
